Gifted Autistic Women’s Group, with Fabienne Wydler — starting March 6, 2023

Gifted Autistic Women's Group

Our next online Gifted Autistic Women’s Peer Discussion Group, will be starting on March 6, 2023. Join six of your gifted and autistic female peers for two hours online every month for six months to share, discuss and explore various themes related to life as a gifted and autistic woman - all with the aim of giving and receiving support and peer mirroring related to your life as a gifted/autistic woman, and exploring and experimenting with ways to thrive with your particular neurocognitive makeup. This group is facilitated by our InterGifted neurodivergence integration coach Fabienne Wydler.
More about our group
Many gifted women, after years of not understanding why or how they are functionally different from the people around them - even from other gifted people - discover that autism explains their extra differences: their hyperlogical mind, their difficulty with neuronorm social rules, their executive function or sensory overwhelm challenges, and so on. Finding out about autism for these women feels like “things suddenly coming together and making sense for the first time”. This realization often leads them to a completely new journey of self-rediscovery of their unique profiles, and how the strengths and challenges of autism provide them unique opportunities for growth, expression, meaning-making and connection with themselves and with others.
Our Gifted Autistic Women’s Peer Discussion Group provides an empowering and generative space for these women to come together and support each other in their self-discovery journey. We cover topics such as (all from the point of view of being a gifted autistic woman):
  • the process of integrating your understanding of autism & giftedness as a woman
  • developing authentic and autistic-friendly self-care routines and schedules
  • how you can authentically and meaningfully connect with others, given your unique neurocognitive profile
  • navigating career, hobby, time-management and life-balance, given your interests, strengths and limitations
  • family, parenting, and relational challenges and opportunities, given your particular relational needs and context
  • the path to healing, resilience and empowerment after difficult past experiences related to your giftedness or autism
  • finding meaning in the world, as your unique self with your particular gifts

Requirements for joining
We have developed this group for women who know they are both gifted and autistic, and who are in a phase in their life where they are ready and able to fully invest in their personal growth and development. We do not require a formal diagnosis of autism or a formal identification of giftedness; however, if we have not already gotten to know you via our assessments, coaching or previous courses, we will ask you for some background information about your giftedness and autism discovery and integration process, in order to evaluate whether our group is a good fit for you.
Attendance at and active participation in all sessions (with video on) is expected, and session preparation is required. Because of our group's purpose, content and format, it is necessary for you to feel able to invest time and effort into your participation, openly share about your personal experience and to listen to and learn from your fellow participants. If you are struggling with social safety, overwhelming emotions, or other hinderances to full participation, we recommend seeking qualified therapy or other support that is better suited to your current phase of healing or self-discovery.
